Kiera had a better day today.  Over night Kiera had a slight fever but by morning the fever was gone.  The doctors thought the fever was due to the length of time her central line has been in so by lunch Kiera's nurse removed it.  (Yeah one more tube removed).  However, they had to put a regular IV line into her hand because Kiera still needs antibiotics administered through the IV.

In addition, Kiera drank 20 ml with the bottle during the night.  This is a giant step forward from the amount she drank yesterday.  Then this afternoon she drank another 20 ml from the bottle.  We were so pleased that Kiera is starting to get the hang of drinking on her own.  Kiera is also getting a full feeding every 3 hours so all of her nutrition is now coming from breast milk (another yeah!).

Hopefully the nurses will continue to try hard to get her to feed with the bottle rather than with her feeding tube.  Keith will be at the hospital first this tomorrow morning to feed Kiera.
