We arrived at the NICU this morning only to discover that Kiera had a bit of a fever. At first, the nurses believed that she may have been slightly overheated because the room was a bit warm and she was in a closed in bed. The nurses moved her to a regular bassinet and removed her blankets to cool her. As I held her, I noticed her bottom lip quiver and my gut told me that she definitely had a fever. Kiera's doctor ordered blood work, antibiotics, and Tylenol and reassured us that some infections were not atypical given all the poking and suctioning that Kiera is enduring.
By the afternoon Kiera's temperature was back to normal but the fever may have caused her to have more secretions which resulted in her difficulty breathing. Fortunately, even this was resolved before we left for the day.
The great news is that we received the official report on Kiera's MRI and EEG. We are happy to share that her brain developed normally.

Sort of know what your daily anxiety and prayer life is like. Praying for you, glad for every little positive thing the doctors tell you. You have a very pretty daughter, will need lots of love and care. These children become more and more precious as time progresses. Mary
