We visited Kiera twice today and both times she slept and slept and slept. Her awake times seem to happen when we are not around. This is a little disappointing but considering that the last number of days have been filled with poking and prodding, she is likely happy to rest most of the time -- and she is only six days old and we all know that infants love to sleep.
The surgery to correct Kiera's esophageal atresia is still scheduled for Monday so we are hoping that goes well so she can finally get some real nutrition.

I am so happy to hear that today was a more positive day and that brain function appears to be normal! She looks like a strong little cookie.

If she ends up with a prosthetic eye, do you suppose she will be the kid that takes it out to gross out the other kids? :) Maybe you will be spared that since she's a girl, eh? So pleased she is getting stronger and has a good chance of having a fairly normal life. Love, Cheryl and Henry
