Kiera had another good day.  It seems that the swelling of her esophagus at the site of repair is decreasing.  Overnight last night, she vomited.  Normally one might think this is bad but it means that her tummy was overfilled and the extra was able to come up to her mouth suggesting that the swelling had gone down.

Kiera also did not need anymore morphine to control pain (just Tylenol).  She seemed happy overall today and was less fussy.

Kiera also had a visit with Oma, Opa, and Tante Dietra.  Piper was able to see Kiera through the window.  Piper still can't visit Kiera because of the rules that children under 5 years cannot enter the NICU.  This makes Piper very sad and its difficult for Piper to really understand that Kiera is part of our family.

I was thinking the same thing as Ang...what a great picture of Keith and Kiera! Glad to hear things are progressing well, she is a strong little girl. Just think of all the hugs Piper will have for Kiera once she can give them...she will love her to bits.

Take care,
Steph and Mark

Beautiful baby getting stronger. Hopefully you will bring her home soon. :) She looks so small in Dad's arms. Proud Papa! Love, Cheryl W.

Hey Keith, Brenda & Piper
Thanks for keeping us updated so we know how to pray for you guys! I'm so amazed at how you keep us updated through blogging and being there for your sweet angel Kiera. Another sign that you are being held up in prayer and that you are not doing this alone. Kiera looks wonderful. We are so glad she is doing well and in good hands. Luv Wanda
