The doc's in Philly looked over Kiera's file today and said she does not have hyperinsilinism but her symptoms are all related to dumping syndrome. The only way to manage her blood sugars is to continuously feed her through the G Tube until she is 1 and then start introducing more complex foods to manage the dumping syndrome. The doc's in Winnipeg felt pretty silly when they told them that.
So, we are NOT going to Philadelphia but need to learn how best to manage with her connected to the feeding tube all the time. They started her on continuous feed around supper time today and will monitor her in hospital for 24 hours. If the blood sugars are stable then she will come home.
