Today Kiera went back to the hospital to try to get some more answers, but unfortunately there were no new answers today. They are worried about Kiera's blood sugar levels because they seem to crash about an hour before feeding, however this is when she is happiest so they are quite confused about that. This evening they are trying her on another type of formula that should be easier for her digestive system to take. It's a long shot to help her but they are trying everything now because they need to isolate all the variables. (Brenda's Psych friends will no about that and if she were writing this there would probably be more detail but it's Keith writing today so it's pretty simple stuff.)
We had some good face time with the feeding and ward doctors today but the surgeon unfortunately was not in today so we couldn't get too many details on the surgery that they want to do to fix her reflux. They were trying to find a day for the Fundoplacation but it likely won't happen until sometime in July because they need 4 hours of OR time and a bed in Pediatric Intensive Care for after the surgery. Because it will take so long to schedule that surgery they are trying to schedule a dilitation for this week because the stricture has reformed again.
Tomorrow the surgeon will meet with Brenda in the morning but the main focus for tomorrow will be to try to figure out her blood sugar issues.
