After speaking to several experts, we have decided against the gastronomy tube (G-tube). After the stricture dilatation and a few weeks of getting Kiera to trust swallowing again, we are confident that she will start feeding again. If this proves to not be the case and she struggles for months and months with feeding, we will then reconsider the G-tube.
Today, Kiera has several appointments -- a pre-op and kidney follow-up. It should be an interesting day.

Thinking and praying for you all tomorrow as Kiera goes in for her stricture dilation. Fingers crossed that this will be the start of a new life for her (and you all!!) Hugs from us all!!
Thanks, Ang. I'm praying it all goes well and that she hasn't lost the ability to drink. I'm a little afraid for the rest of the week . . . What if she is too scared to swallow?
