Kiera is scheduled for another barium swallow study to make sure that her esophagus is still open and that she is able to swallow without difficulty. Her surgeon and feeding doctor are concerned that every morning, Kiera wakes to gagging on her own mucus/saliva. So on Thursday, we are headed to Children's Hospital for another appointment. Hopefully, everything is okay so we can work on getting Kiera to feed. Sometimes we feel that time is being stolen from us because Kiera's feeding issues are always on our minds.
I have to admit that I have lost faith in Kiera's medical team. I feel that going somewhere else for treatment would make all the difference.
