Status Quo

Kiera is still at the same place she was one month ago.  She is still gagging on the excess saliva that she is producing, some of which is due to teething.  She is still retching about 5 times a day.  She is still waking up at least twice a night, something she did not do prior to the fundoplication and 24-hour continuous feeds.  She is still not swallowing anything except very small amounts of water (0.2 ml).  Kiera is still not attempting crawling and she is still not being vocal except for humming, giggling, and crying.

Despite the apparent lack of progress on many fronts, we continue to paint her lips with purees and butter.  We continue to place her on her tummy or on all fours.  We continue to sing to her, talk to her, and play with her.  We are hoping for the best and looking for any glimmer of change.

It must be so difficult to remain patient and encouraging with Kiera. I pray for continued improvement for Kiera and continuing patience for you and your supporting team. Grauntie Cheryl
